I can easily see you being able to charge for something like this, I certainly know I would pay!Įdit: just one other thing I wanted to mention - I love how you handle assigning keyboard shortcuts in the preferences pane. Look, in general though this is fantastic, which is why I wanted to give some actual feedback rather than just saying it looks great (which it does though :) ). If the menu item needs to ask for more information before completing its labeled action you need a "." after it. This probably applies for some of the others too. "New Snippet" should be "New Snippet." in the menu.I'm thinking mainly the placeholder type and highlighting type selectors for this one, the others are fine as you might actually want to type text into them that isn't in the menu. It also means that more items are displayed in the menu, making it just generally quicker to select the desired option. It would be cool if you could make some of the inputs Pop-Up Buttons rather than Combo Boxes, as then you can click anywhere on the element to open the menu, rather than just the arrow.Maybe you can add the menu to the pop-over (a gear icon to the right of the new snippet button maybe?) My system tray is pretty cluttered as it is, so I'd like it if there was an option to "Hide in Menu Bar".Likewise, it would be neat to rename collections via right-click, or actually to be able to rename a collection in general. It would be neat if I could get edit / delete options as a right-click menu on snippets. When I've got the overlay open, I should be able to press CMD+SHIFT+SPACE again to close it.What I reckon would make this better is the ability to add an empty collection via a button in the collection bar, and then be able to drag-and-drop snippets onto the collection icons to move them between them, while also still keeping your existing UI as an alternative option. I searched for a bit to find a "make collection" button, until finally realising that I had to edit a snippet and then type in a name that didn't already exist. Making collections and moving snippets into them is not intutive at all.I resized the window as a whole so I could see large lines in snippets without having scroll, but this means that the list is now a bit too big, and it would be nice to be able to resize it back down. ![]() ![]() I should be able to click-and-drag to resize the list of snippets vs the content pane. Some clearer hover states might help here too. I had to click each to figure out what they did, wrap esp was not that obvious to me. Adding some hover text / tooltips to the edit / delete / copy / wrap / fullscreen buttons. ![]() Hey, overall I really like it, fantastic work, I think I will be using this a lot in the future!Ī couple things I think you could improve however: SnippetsLab is a full-featured, easy-to-use snippets manager.
